I enjoyed your blog. I recently moved out of the classroom into administration, but I really miss the classroom. I truly love to teach, and I seldom get that opportunity anymore. You mentioned the impact that teachers have, and I like most teachers can point to some of my teachers who have greatly influenced my life. It is funny though that I seldom remember what I learned in their class rather I knew they cared.

Although I am not yet a teacher, I agree with what you have said. I want to be a teacher because I have already (as a high schooler) experienced moments that represent the joy of teaching. I agree; it is hard for non-educators to understand the joy of teaching. When my mother asks me why I want to be a teacher and includes the obligatory pay comments, I respond with statements regarding the joy, and fulfillment of teaching.

Some of the closest people to me may never understand that, but it is a sacrifice I am willing to make.
