What a thoughtful post. As a baby teacher I am so often hurt by more experienced teachers who laugh at my enthusiasm and tell me I'll grow out of it quickly. I hope I never loose my love and enthusiasm for what I teach because if I don't love it how can I expect my students to?

I love this post!! As a "baby teacher" (although now in my second year of teaching), I am still so excited by what I am doing. In my department this year, we also have a student teacher and a first-year teacher, and it's so nice to see their excitement and enthusiasm. They remind me to be grateful for what I'm doing even on my bad teacher days.

Thank you so much for this inspiring blog! I am going through the teaching credential for Single Subject Social Studies myself, and am in the final weeks of my student teaching portion. I often wonder why I am so excited to go to work every day, but then I realize that it is because I am exicted about the work that I am doing! Every day I leave Student Teaching appreciative of the profession that I have chosen. Although it is definitely not the highest paid job, it is definitely the most rewarding. I can't think of a better profession to go into, because every day you have the opportunity to make history. I only hope that the passion that I have for teaching will only become stronger as the years go by. Thank you once again for your words of inspiration!
